Berryville Police say that they may be close to an arrest in a series of felony credit card charges stemming from an October purse snatching at a Winchester grocery store in October.

Berryville Police investigator Greg Frenzel says that an arrest warrant has been issued for 46-year-old Glenn Rogers in connection with a wallet and purse stolen from a female shopper at the Martins grocery store on Route 7 in Winchester. Frenzel said that a second suspect who is approximately six-feet tall and weighs around 300 pounds has not yet been identified.

“We’ve had reports that both men are still in the area” Frenzel said. “We believe that they were recently observed panhandling in the Winchester Walmart parking lot and also at Lowes in Stephenson.”

Berryville Police are working with both the Clarke County and Frederick County Sheriff Departments to locate the subjects in connection with not only the purse theft but several subsequent fraudulent credit card transactions made using credit cards that we located in a wallet contained in the purse.

“The suspects made purchases in Clarke County at the 7-11 on Kimble Road, Food Lion and 340 Quik Mart using a stolen credit card” Frenzel said. “Each purchase using a stolen credit card is a felony as is the purse theft.”

Berryville Police chief Neil White said that his department has received several valuable tips about the suspects through the Crimesolvers Hotline.

“The warrant for the first suspect is already out there” White said. “Now all we have to do is find him.”

Anyone with information related to the suspects or the crime is asked to contact the Berryville Police Department at 540.955.3863

Boy, they look like fine upstanding citizens, the kind you would bring home to meet momma. Hope they find them, and throw the book at them. How about they get out there and find a real job, and use there own money…….
