  1. Tammy Lanham says:

    Dear Clarke neighbors,

It seems we’re facing a new dawn for Clarke County High School (and JWMS and Boyce and Cooley’s “campus” students as well….) the time has come to make EDUCATION a PRIOIRITY in Clarke County!

TUESDAY NIGHT 6:00 p.m. at CCHS: School Board Budget work session will be held.
Please take a minute to e-mail your school board rep. or consider attending to show your support for the proposed budget (without making CUTS!)

There is nothing left to cut- but teachers and summer school and sports ~

And oddly enough, when reviewing last year’s budget presentation I realized Clarke’s “ability” to pay for schools is right up there with Loudoun’s…

It’s time to get this County’s priorities straight! Just stop by the school board meeting at 6:00 p.m. to show your support for kids and programs– and then after 7:00 p.m. stop in at the Fire Hall to witness our beloved BOS pushing to spend our tax dollars on the NVRPA HISTORICAL BATTLEFIELD PARK! (I personally prefer my kids to learn about history from a qualified teacher in an up-to-date learning environment).

    It’s all about priorities.

  2. Members of the School Board, take a stand…no more cuts. They’re already working on budget numbers from 5 years ago, have lost positions, etc. What more would be cut or lost or not replaced?

I understand why teachers wore black on Friday…it’s a sad day for the schools, primarily where Richmon is concerned, but here locally it’s telling that there is only 1 solid advocate on the BoS. Supervisors, you need to step up to the plate.
