Rappahannock Electric Cooperative (REC) officially opened its new Culpeper District office and operations center in Culpeper, Va., on Nov. 29. The new office is located off Lover’s Lane at 13252 Cedar Run Church Road and is approximately two miles from its original location.
In describing the new facility, REC’s Culpeper district manager, Robbie Beard, said, “We have been preparing for the opening of our new office throughout the construction process for over a year now. We are excited about the benefits our office will provide to our member-owners and hope they will enjoy the conveniences it brings to their REC experience.”
The new location is open weekdays from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. It offers a full-service member lobby for bill payment or energy consultations, well-situated drive-through windows, and increased parking. In addition, the expanded operations center gives line crews better access to the equipment required to efficiently restore power to members in the event of an outage.
REC provides electric service to over 154,000 connections in parts of 22 Virginia counties. With its general office in Fredericksburg, Va., Rappahannock maintains more than 16,000 miles of power lines through its service area, which ranges from the Blue Ridge Mountains to the tidal waters of the Chesapeake Bay
