Santa Sightings in Clarke County

As Christmas approaches, Santa has been frequenting Berryville and Clarke County to visit with children and spread Christmas cheer. The Clarke Daily News has been attempting to keep up with Santa’s busy schedule and found him this weekend at the Blue Ridge Volunteer Fire Company (BRVFD) Saturday morning. Santa visited with dozens of children while the dedicated volunteers at the BRVFD prepared and served a home-style breakfast for over one hundred people.

Later in the day Santa showed up again in Clarke County, this time riding atop a fire truck. Santa was escorted throughout the town of Berryville by John H. Enders Fire and Rescue volunteers in the annual observance of Santa’s Ride. Santa waved and showered children with candy as he and his entourage meandered through Berryville.

No one is sure how Santa makes contact for these events but one thing is clear, he has an affinity for all of the volunteers at the fire and rescue stations who generously donate their time and energy to serve the community. In fact, it’s been rumored that St. Nick will make yet another appearance at a fire station this coming Sunday. The folks at Shenandoah Farms Volunteer Fire Company have it on good authority that Santa will be visiting for their breakfast event on Sunday the 18th. So don’t miss out on your chance to see Santa and follow his lead by supporting the men and women who help keep Clarke County safe all year round.
