Summer Regional Governor’s School for the Arts Now Accepting Applications

PAVAN is now accepting applications for the 2012 Summer Regional Governor’s School for the Arts. (PAVAN stands for Performing and Visual Arts Northwest.) This program is free to all qualified applicants and offers rising 9th-to-12th graders a two-week, intensive study in their choice of theater, dance, guitar, vocal music, or the visual arts. PAVAN serves students of Clarke, Frederick, Loudoun, and Shenandoah counties. Students may attend public school, private school or be home-schooled. After submitting an application, students will be required to audition for admission to the program. Application deadline is April 1st. Applications and audition information are available at www.pavanw.org.  Auditions will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 14th.Auditions for guitar, voice, theater, and the visual arts will be held at Millbrook High School in Frederick County. Dance auditions will be held at Shenandoah University in Winchester.

Summer Regional Governor’s School will be held July 9-20 at Sherando High School in Frederick County.

  1. Wow! I wish I had noticed this sooner. Curious how I had missed it, I just looked through my child’s papers and all over the confusing CCPS website. I see other events, but I don’t see this mentioned anywhere! Now the application deadline is less than one week away. Was PAVAN cut from the budget or not? Is that why we weren’t informed by the schools? Were we informed somehow and I missed it? How will I know to look for this in the future? What happened?
