Temps March Upward in March Heatwave

Clarke County’s winter that wasn’t continues as Friday’s unofficial high in Berryville, Virginia pushed into the low 90’s.

At 5pm Bank of  Clarke’s thermometer at the corner of Main Street and Church Street posted 92 degrees. The highest official temperature recorded in our area for March 23rd was 86 degrees in 1938.

With no signs of a last-minute winter gasp, residents of Virginia’s northern Shenandoah Valley can’t expect a respite from the unseasonable warmth until Tuesday when temps are expected to only reach into the high 50’s.
