The Clarke County High School Republican Club would like to thank everyone who donated items for the wounded soldiers residing in Bethesda National Medical Center. Faculty, students, and community members filled twelve boxes of goods consisting of games, sweat pants, candy, and snack items. This was the second year the club held a collection of gifts for soldiers. Last year, the CCHS Republican Club sent 16 packages to a local soldier and his troop serving on the front lines in Afghanistan. This year, they turned their attention to the wounded men and women in hopes to remind them their service is always appreciated and never forgotten. “It’s so important that we all stop, reflect and remember those who are fighting for and protecting our freedom every day,” said Megan Allen, President.
Club members have been invited to put wreaths on the gravesites at Arlington Cemetery through “Wreaths Across America,” and will then visit Bethesda National Medical Center to drop off collected items.
