Comments

  1. Can’t wait for the Fair!!! Especially the minivan demolition derby!!!

  2. My 2 Cents says:

    Love those Ruritan Cheesburgers!

  3. It’s worth mentioning that you exhibit ten items – stuff like cut flowers, photography, produce, canned goods, poultry, etc. – you get a free admission pass for the duration of the fair. That’s a real win-win for both you and the fair. Even if you only exhibit a couple of items, THIS is what a county fair is all about.

    • You also get free admission if you volunteer to help with the fair. You don’t have to be a Ruritan member, just someone who loves the CCFair!

    • Hi-just wanted to clear up the above comment because it is not accurate. Here’s the policy concerning entering exhibits and getting a reduced pass (see #4 in particular). If you have any questions-visit the website, http://www.clarkecountyfair.org, and click on Admission.

      GATE PASSES
      I. EXHIBITORS (open classes)
      1. Each livestock exhibitor (regardless of number of entries) of dairy cattle, beef cattle, goats, sheep, swine, rabbits, poultry and horses will receive one (1) Free Season Pass.
      2. Each 4-H and FFA livestock family will receive one (1) additional free Season Pass.
      3. All workers and assistants required by livestock exhibitors will be allowed to purchase a Season Pass for $6 (limit 3 passes per livestock exhibitor).
      4. Exhibitors in the Agriculture, Horticulture, Homemaking, Fine Arts, Photography, Floral departments with articles that do not require any service will be entitled to purchase a Season Pass at $6 per adult and $3 for children. Entry stubs must be shown to the fair ticket office to purchase the tickets. You must have a minimum of 5 entry stubs to purchase a reduced rate Season Pass. Five stubs per reduced pass.
      5. Each commercial exhibitor will receive a maximum of 2 free season passes for each space purchased. These passes are only allotted by the Commercial Exhibit Committee.
      6. Persons bringing exhibits to be entered in the fair will be admitted free on Monday evening and Tuesday until noon.

      V. WORKERS AND OTHERS (NOT COVERED ABOVE)
      1. Persons selected by the Committee Chairman or Fair Chairman as officials, judges or assistants in a department other than exhibitors or Ruritan members, may be issued a free season pass through the fair ticket office.
      2. All free passes and reduced price tickets must be issued through the fair ticket office by the following procedures:
      a. List of workers certified by the fair chairman or committee chairman to be presented at the fair ticket office.

  4. sargewillis says:

Anyone who is interested in working the food stand will also get a free gate pass for the week and free food on the day and time they work. Right now we are in dire need of worker during the day time hours, if you are interested, check out the CC fair web site for name and number. http://www.clarkecountyfair.org under contacts, food stand.
