Valley EarthFest Draws a Crowd

Although mother nature didn’t exactly bestow the blessings of great weather, Valley EarthFest had a great turnout. Dozens of vendors chatted and sold their earth-friendly wares while the sounds of live music performed by a host of bands filled the air. Cheryl Ash, festival organizer, describes the festival as “ a family-oriented, zero-waste event spotlighting a “Grass Roots Green – Getting Back to Basics” approach to sustainable living, offering workshops, food, live music, vendors and fun.” The festival, now in its third year, continues to grow in popularity.

  1. Though I applaud the idea of celbrating the earth I thought the event went on far too long in the evening espeically on a Sunday night. The festivities should have ended at dusk to prevent the east end of town from being a captive audience to the concert. It was extrmely loud all the way up to the railroad tracks and beyond I suspect. Great idea though for during the day!!
