Lady Eagles Play for a Cure

The Clarke County High School varsity softball team is sponsoring a Play for a Cure game on Tuesday, May 17 at 5:00 PM against Madison County.   The purpose of the game is to promote Breast Cancer Awareness and is promoted through the Virginia High School League.

Spectators are encouraged to wear pink, and donations will be accepted to benefit the American Cancer Society.   Literature about breast cancer will also be available at the game.

The softball team will sport Hot Pink jerseys with the VHSL Play for a Cure logo and also wear their bright pink socks.   There will be a ceremony prior to the game that will be include a special guest throwing out the first pitch.

T-shirts will be on sale Tuesday for $10 on a limited basis.   The softball program will donate the proceeds from the t-shirt sales to the American Cancer Society and also make a donation from their team funds.

Your support at this great cause would be appreciated.   If you cannot make the game, you could support our efforts by wearing pink to school on Tuesday or buying one of our t-shirts.

Senior athletes on the team will also be honored Tuesday evening before the game that features the chance for the Lady Eagles to earn a tie for the district regular season championship with a defeat of the Mountaineers.
