Virginia State Senator, Jill Holtzman Vogel is scheduled to visit Clarke County High School on Wednesday, April 13th 2011 from 3:45 – 4:30.
Senator Vogel represents the 27th Virginia Senate district, which includes the counties of Clarke, Fauquier, Frederick, Winchester City, and parts of Loudoun County, Virginia.
According to CCHS Young Republicans Club President, Megan Allen, “Senator Vogel will be giving a brief speech about being a Senator, what her typical day is like, and why being interested and educated about politics is important.”
A March 3, 2011 Legislative Update on Senator Vogel’s website notes just a few of the her upcoming legislation issues including: transportation funding, reforming funding for higher education, community based care clinics, HOV and hybrid vehicles, insurance coverage for children with Autism, and the issue of the under-funded VRS (Virginia Retirement System).
Students, faculty, and Clarke County High School parents are invited to attend. Sponsored by the Young Republicans Club, this is a non-partisan event and questions are welcome.
