Volunteers Needed for Therapeutic Riding

The Blue Ridge Center for Therapeutic Horsemanship (BRCTH) is seeking interested persons to assist with the 8-week Spring Riding Session to begin the week of April 16th at Horse Patch Farm in Boyce, VA.  Lessons are scheduled weekday afternoons and Saturdays.  We are inviting enthusiastic and caring individuals to join our team.  Lesson volunteers must be at least 14 years of age.  Equine experience is required for the position of leader, and is preferred, but not required for the side-walker position.  Two training sessions are required of all lesson volunteers: the off-site training is scheduled for Wednesday, March 28th at 6:00 pm at the Meade Memorial Episcopal Church Social Hall in White Post.  Informational materials will be distributed and refreshments will be served.  Trainees must attend ONE of the on-site trainings which are scheduled at 5:00 pm on Monday, April 9 and Wednesday, April 11 and at 10:00 on Sat, April 14 at the farm.  The on-site training will be very hands-on and cannot be attended without first attending the off-site training.
