Winchester Little Theatre Offers “New Virginia Voices” Playwright Competition

77991_theatre_curtainThe Winchester Little Theatre is now accepting submissions for its first Playwright Competition.   Winners of this competition will receive a cash award and the winning play will be produced by Winchester Little Theatre January 12-22, 2011. The competition is open to Virginia residents as well as non-residents who live within fifty miles of Winchester or those who are attending Virginia colleges and universities.   To enter this competition, submissions must be postmarked no later than August 1, 2010.

The Winchester Little Theatre (WLT) was organized in 1929 “…to present, produce and encourage the production, acting and writing of plays…” by a group of persons interested in providing an outlet for their artistic interests and bringing to the community entertainment and culture. The WLT operates in the former Pennsylvania Railroad freight station at   315 West Boscawen Street in Winchester.
