Word-Beat Duo Performs “Poems for Peace” at Johnson-Williams Middle School

On April 19th students at Johnson-Williams Middle School in Berryville were treated to the artistic excellence of Word-Beat. The duo combines the talents of singer Charles Williams and percussionist Tom Teasley in a program that features the inspirational texts of authors Langston Hughes and Nelson Mandela as well as African folk songs. The two artists, each successful in their own right, are both dedicated educators presenting concerts and clinics throughout the world. Word-Beat has performed their critically acclaimed melding of music and voice at prestigious venues and before academic audiences throughout the U.S. and Europe.
The event was made possible by funding from the Marion Park Lewis Foundation and The Barns of Rose Hill.
